EMAIL FOR AI AGENTS
Transactional email your AI agent can use.
MailKaka is a transactional email API for Indian businesses, with a hosted MCP server. Connect Claude Code or another MCP client, sign in once, and your agent can set up a domain, send email from it, and check that it was delivered. Email is sent from Mumbai and billed in INR.
claude mcp add --transport http mailkaka https://www.mailkaka.in/api/mcpRun this in your terminal. Then start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose mailkaka, and sign in through the browser window that opens. If it doesn't open, copy the link Claude Code shows. No MailKaka account yet? Start free.
Then try
Add mail.mycompany.in to MailKaka, show me the DNS records, and send a test email to me@mycompany.in once it's verified.WHAT AN AGENT CAN DO
From a new domain to a delivered email.
- Set up sending
- Add a domain, get its DNS records to add at your provider, and check when it's verified.
- Send email
- Send one email or a batch from your verified domains, with idempotency keys so a retry can't send twice.
- Check delivery
- Read delivery status, recent sends, bounce rates, and plan usage, without opening a dashboard. Delivery metrics depend on your plan.
- Manage your account
- Create API keys, webhooks, and suppressions for your application.
- Work in team mailboxes
- Read, search, and reply in mailboxes you can access. Off until a workspace admin turns it on.
STAYING IN CONTROL
An agent that misbehaves shouldn't take down your email.
- Sign-in
- A workspace admin signs in from a browser window and chooses what the agent can do. Access tokens last an hour, and a stolen refresh token disconnects the agent when it's replayed.
- Permissions
- Separate permissions for viewing your account, changing it, sending email, reading mailboxes, and sending from them.
- Limits
- 120 tool calls and 60 sends a minute, and 500 emails a day, per agent. Your plan's monthly quota and suppression list still apply.
- Previews
- Deleting something, sending a batch, creating an API key, or sending from a mailbox shows a preview first. This relies on the agent showing it to you, so the limits above are the real protection.
- Bounce warnings
- If one agent passes a 5% bounce rate, the workspace owner gets an email naming it, before bounces put the whole workspace at risk.
- Visibility
- The dashboard's Agents tab lists every connection and what it changed. Remove one and it loses access immediately.
WAYS TO CONNECT
Give each agent only what it needs.
| Option | Best for | What it can reach |
|---|---|---|
| Browser sign-in | Claude Code and other MCP clients that can open a browser | The whole account, with the permissions you choose |
| Personal token | Agents and scripts that can't open a browser | The same, with an expiry of 1 to 365 days |
| API key | Agents that only need to send | Sending and delivery status on one domain |
The full tool list is in the docs, and agent instructions are at /skill.md.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you connect an agent.
- What does it cost?
- Agent access is included on every plan, including the free plan. Emails an agent sends count towards your plan's monthly quota like any others. Plans are billed in INR through Razorpay.
- Which agents work with it?
- Any MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP. The server address is https://www.mailkaka.in/api/mcp.
- Can an agent get my account suspended?
- Yes, which is why the limits exist. Bounces and complaints count against your whole workspace, and suspension stops your production email too. Give agents the exact addresses to use, and only connect agents you trust.
- Where does the data go?
- Email is sent from Mumbai, and the MailKaka app and database run in Singapore. Anything an agent reads through MCP is also sent to that agent's AI provider, under that provider's terms.
- Can I use an API key instead of signing in?
- Yes. An API key works as a Bearer token and is limited to sending and status on its one domain, so it's a good fit for an agent that only needs to send.
